Yep, so it's official... designers do not have to code. Is this a good thing? I think that designers should know the language well enough to communicate with programmers, but I don't think that we all need to learn how to code. We all have our areas of specialization. Designers should be learning the basics of HTML5 and CSS with perhaps a dash of MySQL, JQuery, Java, PHP for good measure. However, learning the basics well enough to communicate and becoming a world-class programmer are two very different things.
